    Icelandic Sweater

Posted by Jan on 2020 Sep 4th

This will be used in an Icelandic Sweater. I have been knitting them for the New Icelandic Heritage Museum in Gimli Manitoba. With the sale and free shipping, the price was better than the other online stores.

MY FEET WILL BE WARM or someone's feet will be

I knit house socks from this yarn and was very happy with the end result. I also crocheted house slippers that are wonderful. I tried felting the slipper socks and it didn't shrink as much as I thought it would be will do it again as see if it tightens up some more.

    Beautiful yarn

Thick and sticky - knits up quickly. The texture is slightly uneven, as you would expect in a yarn of this nature. Colour consistency is fantastic and the fabric produced is a rugged and hearty. I went up a size to be sure that there was room for an under layer as it's really not a next-to-skin yarn.

    Perfect match!

Posted by Ann on 2018 Apr 16th

This yarn has exactly the same feel and weight as the yarn I had on hand from a project several years ago. Now able to finish this frogged project and obtain perfect consistency in my knitting. Thanks

Unique yarn from a classic pure bred sheep

Yarns made from classic breeds are getting harder to find. Icelandic wool yarn is rare and beautiful and available in a range of natural cooours as well as many lovely deep dyed shades.
