Knits up well
I have made several ponchos and single size blankets, usually with the 0ne pound Red Heart. I am finding the Caron One Pound so easy to use, especially because I can use size 6 or 6.5 mm needles and the projects go much more quickly. Several of the blankets were for the grandchildren going to university and Caron colours are perfect for the different school colours. For example, University of Guelph colours are red, gold (can't be yellow) and black. The name for Guelph was founded on a name from George IV's family: a House of Hanover branch of the House of Welf, sometimes spelled as Gwelf. The flag colours of Germany are red, Gold, and black.

Sturdy yarn
A decent, sturdy yarn that holds up well over the years, becoming softer with time. Perfect for afghans.
