This wool is a roving so yes, it is not as strong while sewing up and it does tend to split. However, I have now used it for 3 sweatshirt style pullovers and it has been terrific- warm, fairly weightless but a nice bulk. Perfect for an early season gardening sweater!!

I agree that the yarn does split but one just has to work more slowly to avoid snafus. It is super soft and cuddly. I think that the mattress stitch will be a challenge as the yarn does break but again, going slowly should solve that problem.

Soft and pretty, only downside is that compared to its grey counterpart, it’s not as sturdy, if you pull on it it’ll more easily break or separate, but it’s still not a fragile thread!
