close to my homespun yarn, but I didn't have to do the spinning. Wonderful texture for working color work with steeks. There is a tiny bit at hay, but can easily be removed while winding to balls. Great quality for a great price. I wish I had found it years ago

I purchased red, grey and beige to knit a pair of boot socks. My sister spends a lot of time outside in the winter and she can't wait to wear them. I found the yarn easy to work with and I am in the process of of acquiring patterns of suitable items for this type of yarn.

I really like Briggs & Little wool yarn. It's not over processed - yeah, I know there's bits of hay in there & I know it's rough & scratchy BUT it's not full of chemical residue that can give you a rash, it wears like iron & it gets softer as you work with it. It was never meant for next-to-skin but it makes terrific mitts, socks, hats & jackets. I've made a lot of boot socks with it & knit several Hoodies as well. Just bought several skeins of RED & GREY to make myself a garter stitch sweater!! Hooray for Canadian wool.
My only complaint is that I have to wind it into a centre pull cake before I can use it.

I wanted a yarn to make a warm shawl - this yarn worked really well.
