Alpaca is the natural fibers taken from an Alpaca which is super soft, silky and luxurious feeling. It’s similar to sheep's wool and is typically mixed with wool and sometimes acrylic. The alpaca used to create yarns have a natural crimp and elastic to them making them well suited for knitting. Knitters love that alpaca is a bit warmer than sheep’s wool, is hypoallergenic, and water repellent.
