Easy to assemble even though the instructions are confusing in part. I have an old Wee Peggy which I was looking to replace. This wheel is very smooth and easy to adjust. I really like this wheel
Love my new wheel. Excellent quality. Never a disappointment when I purchase from Yarn Canada.
I love my Ashford spinning wheel. It spins like a charm and is a solid piece that seems like it'll last a long time. I am so glad that I decided to go ahead with this purchase. Being able to spin again on a well-working wheel makes me so happy. That being said, this is a four-star and not a five-star review because some of the fine details on the woodwork weren't great. Structurally it is perfectly sound, but some of the parts have some tear-out at the edges, the curves of the wheel and some other tricky parts weren't sanded very well, there are some minor burn marks where the wood got too hot, and a couple other things. These are all aesthetic issues, not functional or structural, so they don't affect my spinning at all. Still, for the price I was hoping that the craftsmanship would be better. I still love my wheel and am glad that I bought it, but it's not perfect. Also, you need to do a lot of assembling to get the wheel going, which includes hammering pieces in. The assembly instructions weren't always clear (Ashford, please hire a copy editor for that booklet), and I'm not a mechanically minded person, so that process was frustrating for me. Again, I still love my wheel and am glad that I have it. Just the process wasn't perfect. Still, I would recommend this wheel. It spins like a charm, which is the most important thing.
I have been looking to purchase a spinning wheel for a long time now, and I was hesitant to purchase one online because it is quite the investment and had no reviews. But I finally bit the bullet and was not disappointed. You do have to assemble the wheel yourself and some light tools are required, however, the directions were relatively simple to follow with lots of descriptive images. Quality exceeded my expectations. Very satisfied.
The best wheel ever.
